Every Monopole Video So Far As A Vine!
White Town – Theme For Turku Central Station
Doing this video was in some ways trickier than the others so far as it’s an instrumental. But thanks to sterling work from Miss Barratt and a whole heap of serendipity, I think it came out well. Enjoy!
White Town – You Fill Me Up
Woah, I’ve been so busy with Uni work that I completely forgot to post this video up! Hope you like it, there’s another one coming in a few seconds…
White Town – How Love Feels
Here’s a new pop video! It’s for the song ‘How Love Feels’ off my current album, ‘Monopole.’ You can buy it on iTunes here or the CD here.
The vid stars White Town backing vocalist Natalie Alice Barratt and she’s done a wonderful job, she’s a great actress. Even to the point of falling over for her craft which was, of course, totally necessary for the shot I wanted. It was fun directing her! *evil director laugh*
The song is about summer and love and pure, pure happiness. So ENJOY! And I hope you like it!
If you do, please share it anywhere and everywhere!
New Video – Invisible Elastic
Here’s another track from my new album, ‘Monopole,’ (you can buy it here). My friend Laura is starring in it and she did a wonderful job following my tyrannical direction. “CRY NOW! TEARS! I WANT TEARS, WOMAN!”
Enjoy!
Busy Bee – New White Town Singles
I’ve been mad busy the last couple of weeks, mastering album tracks and also making pop vids. It’s been hectic!
For this album, I’m planning to release a vid for every track on the album. It’s partly because people only seem to share YouTube links for music now and partly because I want to push myself further as a film-maker and this is an excellent way to do it.
Here’s the first one (excluding ‘Cut Out My Heart‘ which I made last year):
‘Missing Her Again’ is a track I wrote way back in 1987. I decided to re-visit it for this album as it seems to fit my life again in lots of ways, sadly. I recorded a version way back then and it’s funny listening to my voice with a different, younger timbre.
And here’s the one I stuck up yesterday:
This song is a year old and it comes out of a similar place to ‘Missing Her Again’ in that it’s a love song written about someone who isn’t around any more. Here’s a more detailed explanation from a Facebook exchange I had:

And I filmed another vid with my friend Laura on Tuesday. I’ve got a little production line going!
New Single And Video – She’s A Lot Like You
And here’s another single from the new album! It’s 50p from here!
New Single And Video – Missing Her Again
Hope you like it! And you can buy it here.
New Song And Video – ‘Cut Out My Heart’
Hello! Although I’ve been doing a lot of moping and licking my wounds, I’ve also been busy with music. And video! Check out what I’ve been up to:
I shot the vid on my lovely 5Dmk 2 and finished the edit (in iMovie) this Monday night, around 3.30am. So, it’s hot off the… er… Mac Pro?
The song pretty much sums up where I am now, it’s a snapshot of my emoness, I’ve just snuggled that negativity in quite an upbeat-sounding wrapper. It’s from my new album which should be coming out some time in early ’11.
Thanks to Kelly and Nat for agreeing to star in it and braving the cold!
Elizabeth Allo Darlin’ Singing ‘Your Woman’
If you’ve been paying close attention, you will have read my ramble about playing a totally acoustic gig at The Hangover Lounge recently.
Well, here’s a little video of Elizabeth from Allo Darlin’ and I practising for when she sang ‘Your Woman’ in my set. Hope you like it, despite the gormy faces I’m making!
