Does George Lucas know that you incorporated part of The Imperial March into Your Woman?

I’ve just read your blog post about the man coming up to you in Derby City Centre and asking you if you spoke English. Derby is indeed a strange City and I just spat tea over my laptop.

I enjoyed looking at your website today and have been a fan since I first heard “Your Woman”.

In 1997, back when I was 13 years old, closing on the age of 14, I always listened to this one radio station. I remember there was a lot of new sounds coming in during that year, mostly American, which is where I’m from. One night, while doing chores and listening to this particular station, I heard an introduction to a song with haunting strings and a horn. Furthermore an synth picked up and eventually the entire thing swelled with beats and lyrics. At that time, I thought I only liked music with heavy guitars and aggressive lyrics . . . and with “Your Woman” you proved me wrong. I bought the album “Women In Technology” not long after and learned more and more that there’s a whole spectrum of music out there that I enjoy.
Ever since, I’ve been wondering, “Whatever happend to White Town? I wonder if there’s a way I can get hold of music I’ve not heard yet.”
To say the least, I very much enjoy your music and will quest here, at this website, to find more music to purchase. Keep up the good work, pursue it as you may.

White Town… I have an amazing story to tell you, well not for you guys, but for me, and I thought you’d like to hear :). I’m only 16, but when I was around 6 or 7, I remember hearing “Your Woman” on the radio, and if I can remember correctly, I think there was a music video being played on MTV… The music I heard, in those early years, greatly impacted my life, and have always stuck with me. I’ve moved away from CDs in the past year or so, and jumped on the bandwagon and got an iPod, and use iTunes. I didn’t remember the name of the song, “Your Woman”, but I never forgot your band name. I searched iTunes, and luckily found “Your Woman”. Obviously, I purchased it, loaded it to my iPod, and have been happy ever since. It brings back alot of good memories from my early years…
Sincerely,
Jeff

Well I never!!!
Whether it is because I grew up in Derby or because ‘that song’ lodged into my brain at some defining moment in my life I don’t know but, it has definately stuck with me. I’ve moved away from Derby and come back again. And walking around town I just can’t help hearing that bass-line and trumpet sample - AGH!!! Reminds me a lot of waiting for our old ice-incased college bus on freezing winter mornings in the dark with a few of my college mates, wondering what in the hell we were doing!

Ok…I’ve been hearing Your Woman on the radio for YEARS, and after all that time I can say it’s one of my favorite fucking songs in the world. I don’t know why, but it just totally grabs me. Going to buy the album tonight (with trepidation, forgive me, but it’s the only song of yours I’ve heard). It’s just SO SEXY for guy to sing those lyrics. I’ve read a few things on the site–Congratulations on your marriage!! I just got married this Saturday. We were supposed to get married in Cancun, but instead we spent 5 days in a shelter because of Hurricane Wilma. Take care, hon. Love, Jamie

Hi,
I was hunting for ways to put up a guestbook on my website, so I cruised several places, eventually landing on your site. Now I could manage you’ve done everything except one thing - the reverse chronology i.e. last comment appearing at the top. How did you do it?
all help is appreciated.
PS: This post need not be approved, I was too lazy to search for your email, hence used this interface!

I was glad to see from the Q & A section that I am not the only person who feels “Women in Technology” is possibly gay music. Although you seem to deny it, I have to tell you that gay people enjoy the album, and feel the music and lyrics “speak” to them. This feeling goes beyond cultural boundaries. Last week I played the music to some gay friends here in Taiwan. They like it!
I like your differently-styled music as well, even though I am not gay.
