Hello,
I love the video for ‘your woman’ I love the song as well. I was wondering, who are the actors that are in the video? If you could get back to me on that, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks so much

Hi,
It’s strange but I’ve only found out now about who you are really. I wondered what happened to you after playing the “Your Woman” video again on my computer. I LOVE THAT VIDEO and I never get tired of the song (sorry to mention, I guess you must be sick of people speaking to you about this one).
That pushes me to hear more of your music. Is the “Women in technology” album still distributed?
Cheers,
Seb.

I emailed you last year around this time about possibly performing at my college in NYC, but you replied that you did not have a band at that time. Now that i’ve read you have started touring once again, I am inquiring as to whether you will be in the states anytime in the coming months and if you would be interested in playing a small but definitely well received show.

ahhh, memories indeed. I have that first single sitting next to me right now, the one you gave to me jyoti, in order to learn the set-list. I am, indeed, one of those aforementioned 8 guitarists who fell by the wayside, never to be seen again. Rehearsals in your folks’ front room at allestree, copies of songs to learn recorded on your dad’s medical tapes (my fave being ‘and then it changed’) and a triumphant gig at the dial in sept 1990 before i had to bugger off to uni and leave you to it. Ahhhh

Thank you for putting the first single on this page. Absolutely love it!
Take care

Hmmmm, this is a bit of a long shot, but hey I can’t find an email address so…
Could you by any chance tell me what the chords are for the chorus of ‘Your Woman’?
Everything I’ve found online seems wrong - e.g. - http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/w/white_town/your_woman_crd.htm and has the same chorus chords as the verse.
Unfortunately, my musical talents aren’t good enough to work them out myself.
Really enjoying the blog, and good luck with everything.
Cheers,
Chris.

HI Jyoti,
I couldn’t find any other way to reach you so I thought I would try this. I am a reporter for Eastern Eye newspaper and was interetsed in doing a feature on you for our paper. I would really like to talk to you in person so please email me back if you are interested.
Many thanks, Gouri

Hi Jyoti,
I read this in your blog recently:
“I’m now going to send out feelers to see if there’s anything like the Swedish scene over here in Britain or other parts of Europe. If there is, I’ll go and play gigs (if they want me). I’m looking for nights and scenes where there’s a real love of pop songs, of singing about real life rather than fantasy and where politics isn’t something to be sneered at. I’m looking for people who are unafraid to show they care.”
Happily, there is something along those lines over here. Forgive me if you know all this already, but there’s a great community of enthusiastic indie pop fans at http://www.bowlie.com and fantastic club nights like National Pop League in Glasgow, Don’t Start Feeling All Romantic in Nottingham, Kissing Just For Practice in Manchester…and my own humble venture, How Does It Feel To Be Loved? in London. We put on live shows as well as club nights, and if you’d ever like to play in London, we’d be honoured to have you.
We have a website here - http://www.howdoesitfeel.co.uk
Happy New Year!

Blimey! The first White Town single! Fair sends a tingle, and I *still* anticipate the drums coming in on ‘White Town’ itself, like I used to when I heard it then and played it before that.
Mind you, I think Nick owes the estate of Pete DeFreitas a few quid.
and now, I can almost *taste* ‘Truffaut’.

How’s Tyler James’ cover going ? Is his cover of “Your Woman” as successful as your original was? His version is definitely different than yours but I can’t decide which version I like better. After hearing his cover I checked out the rest of his music and he’s a really talented guy. Thanks for introducing him to us.
Oh, and Happy New Year
