Hi Jyoti,
I’ve listened some samples from this website and they are absolutely smashing (as far as I could understand in 30 secs)
is it possible to buy your albums in Russia? I was looking for any records but looks like they aren’t available here… Except one song, I think no need to mention which one exactly

I’m just curious, is it possible to live off one big hit (like in the film About a Boy). People talk about royalties, but roughly what does one bit hit bring in on an annual basis? Who pays? Sorry if this is too nosey, I know people hate admitting what they earn (I earn nothing - being a student, and wont earn much more than that when I qualify as I’m going into a caring profession).

I’m glad I’m not the only commentor who thinks this… I was also listening to “Moi… Lolita” sung by French singer Alizee - VERY similar score to your “I could never be your woman” song.
Any relation? Not sure if you’ve answered this yet, but I’m totally curious! Get royalties! =)

Hey i’m Ryan…I live in Naples, Florida. I love your song “Your Woman”! Everytime I hear it I think back to the times i did my ‘Buffalo Bob” thing. I used to tuck my manhood back, look into the mirror, and cry out how much I wanted to be someone’s woman! Please come to Southwest Florida sometime. XOXO, Best Wishes!

Have always wanted to say thank you for Women in Technology and the conduit in which it all started for me - Your Woman. Was stuck in the United Arab Emirates on a work contract when I first heard it. What a breath of fresh air it was, and since has easily stood the test of time. You saved me. Thanks Jyoti.

Well, we would like to request you for an interview that we want to air on July 30
It would be terrific if we could call you and have a chat. Please let us know by replying to the email id mentioned here, it would be awesome to feature a musician such as yourself for the benefit of our listeners, they’d love it!

First- thanks for your sounds. W.I.T. is one of the most influencial albums of my tender years::sighs::
Secondly- I would like to cover WANTED with my band. I’d like your blessing- and I promise not to f* it up too bad.
I love that you made it happen with so little- thats VERY inspiring for all of us at home artists.

I recently came across a familiar sounding and very catchy pop tune by the French singer Alizee, called “Moi…Lolita” which apparently was a massive European hit back in 2000/1 (finger on the pulse, me).
The Alizee package is slightly reminiscent of Vanessa “Joe, le Taxi” Paradis but, and getting to the point finally, the score in “Moi…Lolita” is very obviously “Your Woman” in disguise. That said, I’m not sure if you received any credit for writing the music which propelled her to stardom.
So, is there a connection, or am I losing it..?

Hi J, remember east street paper sales…me you Fernandez and Malanczuk, when he could be bothered to come. Remember the Albert hall? 1000s of Reds, Nellist, Hatton (what happened to him) Ted…RIP and the inspirational south african comrades of “Workers Fortress.”
Im still a socalist active and discussing reading learning lessons and avoiding SWP sectarians!
Got three kids, yep three and working in the midlands. drop me a line. nearly fell off my chair when i first heard your woman on the radio. I’ll try to check out the new CD when i get to Derby to get one at reveal!!!
I remember listening to some of your songs at your parents house, when i bought my guitar around…i was shocked at the ones you rejected.
They were good!
I didn’t dine out on our passing aquaintence at that time, couldn’t afford the royalties…lol.
take care
Tony

Hey, so I was wondering about the song that “Your Woman” is based on; that Al Bowlly one. Do you think you could put a sample on your site just so I can see what inspired one of my favorite songs ever ?
May 11th, 2007 at 5:58 am
so their I was driving, and no shit your hit song came on - bring back the pubescent memories of my early teens with it
- now a little more grown, it has been a wonder to find your site and realize their was more to the artist then what one (timeless IMO) song from the radio - now getting to listen to some of your other songs I realize I’m listening to a true musical artist at work - keep it up!

Hi Jyoti!
I came across an old archive of one of my oooold websites today (outsider) in which you had commented on the guestbook http://web.archive.org/web/20001024140423/http://www.outsider.freeuk.com/
then click ‘gbook’ just for reference if interested)
I felt guilty that I hadn’t been to your site in a while (last year I think I checked it out). Great to see you are still “keeping on” with music arriving left right and centre
Anyway, hope all is well for you and thanks for the memories!
and if you have myspace look me up and i’ll put you in my top friends list to help spread the word.
Paul (Spacehotel - was outsider).

Hi Jyoti,
When people ask me what I kind of music I make, I have no answer. I also have no “demographic” or “image”, etc. Even the Indie scene sometimes seems like the “cool” kids from school smoking joints in the bathroom. But somehow deep down I believe that no answer is the right answer for me.
Every once in a while, I read your October ‘06 entry about DIY recording to keep me going. I still don’t have a lot of my own equipment, so (mainly for “work” projects”) I must wander down the road to my neighbourhood studio, But I’ll invest in some home equipment this year and learn the technology. So, thanks for the inspiration. (Plus, my bro-in-law is also named Jyoti Mishra.)

Hi Jyoti,
Is Don’t Mention the War back in at Reveal Records yet? The last time I was there (admittedly before Christmas) it had long since sold out… Any chance of slapping their wrists on my behalf?
Cheers!
Rollo.
P.S. Since when was Uncut a reputable music magazine?
